The Preface

The search is already happening

The world grows more complicated by the year, and more people are waking up to a quiet realization: the things they were told would make them happy, a degree, a house, a car, a good job, do not bring the lasting fulfillment they were promised. They leave you chasing it in things outside yourself.

Many people have gone looking for more and been burned. The internet is full of shallow manifestation content and law-of-attraction promises that sell the shortcut and skip the substance. And still they keep coming back to those ideas, because underneath the noise there is a truth they can feel but cannot yet name.

So they live inside a paradox. They sense they have real power over their own life, but they do not know how to use it. When they try to control every little thing, they burn out. When they sit back and wait for something outside themselves to fix it, they feel a piece is missing.

Wood engraving of a cottage on a dark lane at night. One upstairs window glows with warm lamplight, where a figure sits reading, and a steeple stands far down the lane.
Somewhere tonight, someone is looking for this.

What they are looking for is exactly what New Thought offers: that all is one, and that each person, through their own volition, holds the power to create the life and the impact they want. They simply do not have the words for it yet. Your center does.

First Cause Studio exists for that moment. I help New Thought ministers and centers use modern tools to lower the barrier to entry into practical spirituality. Lowering the barrier to entry is not just my tagline. It is the whole job.

A website is a front door

I build websites, but the website is not the point. The point is the person on the other side of it.

Someone who comes looking late at night, searching for a way to feel better, is not looking for a pretty page. They are looking for a door. My work is making sure that when they find yours, it opens easily: clear service times, simple directions, a warm word, and an easy way to reach you.

Why I do this work

Felix Diez, founder of First Cause Studio.

I know this because I was there.

I had the seed early: the idea that the way I thought about my life could literally change my life. And still I struggled, for years, because I did not know that a teaching, a tradition, a community, an entire infrastructure already existed and was waiting to welcome me. It took me the long way to find the door.

The long way was years of research and study. The Science of Mind. Ernest Holmes. Thomas Troward. Book by book, principle by principle, until the ideas stopped being ideas and became a life. What I found at the end of that road was passion, love, and a fulfillment I had chased everywhere else first.

Once you find that, you cannot keep it to yourself. I feel a moral obligation to share this teaching. Here is my honest confession: I do not have it in me, at least not now, to stand at a pulpit on Sunday and deliver a message. But I have the skills, the expertise, and the desire to help ministers minister. That is my pulpit.

The mission is simple to say. Take what is already here, already built over decades by ministers who have given their whole lives to it, and help it become easy to find for the people looking for it.

Because people are looking for something practical they can actually use, real instruction on how to better their life from within. And this movement has it. We have it. It is there. It is available. But this teaching deserves to be as easy to find as anything else online, and right now it is not. The noise only grows louder every year. If we do not bring this movement into the places people actually look, the work of a lifetime could go unseen by the very people it was meant for. That is what makes this feel urgent to me.

First Cause Studio did not begin with a paying job. It grew in the unmanifest, as a spiritual prototype in my mind and heart, until my desire to make a real difference grew so strong that it was born into existence. I trusted that the how was not my concern. I knew only that I would make that difference or spend my life trying.

This studio is my demonstration: allowing Spirit to work through me to benefit the world in the way I know how. That is why it carries the name it does. First Cause is the originating Cause, Spirit itself. Everything I build starts there.

The Articles

What I believe

The seeker comes first.
Every choice on every page answers one question: does this help someone find their way in? If it does not serve the person searching, it does not belong on the site.
Your site belongs to you.
Your web address is in your name from day one. At launch the whole site is handed over, every file and every login, and ongoing care is month to month. Once the build is paid off, it is all yours outright.
Plain and honest language.
Everything I write and propose is worded plainly, no fine print doing quiet work. If a term cannot be said out loud across a table, it does not go in.
Someone who knows this movement.
You should be able to work with someone who already knows and loves New Thought, not a vendor learning the language as they go.

Come say hello.

If you would like your center to be easier to find and warmer to walk into, and you would like to work with someone as passionate about this movement as you are, let’s talk.

No pressure. A conversation costs nothing, and you will leave it knowing more about your options either way.
